She canvas

Such a long time since I blogged - I have been very busy with lots of arty projects but have been a bit lacking in getting things finished - the weather has been so nice here in Oldham that I have been taking advantage of it.I've also been very busy with a patchwork quilt that I am hand piecing - a mammoth task !!!

Anyways here's another one of my She girls that I just finished off this week - the background was created with dressmaking pattern coverd with lots of paints and inks - some brayering some rubons and lots of stencilling. My doll was cut out from script paper - I then added cotton to all the buttons and added them along with the ribbon - I added the face from a cut out I finished off the piece with the wording

She Doll Number 2

For this doll I used Corrugated cardboard as my base. I covered this with old print, music sheet and a couple of old tags which I adhered with mod podge. I then gessoed over the top and using stencils and Color wash spray added my lettering. I then added texture paste through sequin waste - did some stamping here and there and added some dry brush Ivory Acrylic. a few rubons were added and then another coat of mod podge. She was cut out from scraps of print and patterned paper. The buttons on the top are rubons - I added some Acrylic and some roller stamping. I painted and highlighted her hair added her wings, a bit of lace around her neckline and a bow.I then added the wording and dry brushed them with acrylic - The "when you smile" wording are rub ons, I am having such fun with this course - love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My very first She Doll

I have started an on line Art Class and am enjoying every minute - the tutor Christy is brilliant. This is my very first piece - if you would like to know more about the class there is a link on my side bar

This is the material I chose to use for my 3 She Dolls for this week

And this is them when I had added some background

I added lots of texture, masking inking stamping you name it I added it before I added my doll. I have the other 2 to finish before we go on to bigger things next week

I think She fits in well with the theme this week on Wednesday Stamper
