Tuesday Taggers - Canvas
I inked my canvas using distress inks - added some paper down the left hand side that my neice Ann gave to me. I then stamped my image inkadinkado with one of my favourite distress inks - Pine Needles on to seperate card - cut it out and inked the edges before adding it. I then added some Distress crackle paint and some buttons - my sister Lynne let me loose in her button box - I picked out some fab ones !!!
This weekschallenge at Tuesday Taggers is being sponsored by Art From the Heart - I would love to try their new sprays so am keeping my fingers crossed

Home is where the heart is

I made this little canvas which measures 4 inches by 4 inches for a swap being hosted on the Lotstodorevisited forum by Zoe.
I started by covering my canvas with gesso - I then used distress inks to add my colour masking the moon. I then tried to stamp on it - should have known better that didn't work so I drew the little cottage with a Whispers pen using the fine end. I then managed to stamp my little birds with black Stazon. I finished by adding my words done on my dymo

Friendship

I put some colour on to the base of my canvas then covered it in Beeswax - I thne added some dressmakers pattern tissue. Next came the images - Thanks Sam - I put an image in the name plate and covered with glossy accents and when dry attached with brads. I put a layer of modpodge on the hinge and then inked it I heated it until the glue bubbled to creat texture. I than put another coat of beeswax all over. To finish it off I added the Tape - 7 gypsies and the Letters Tim Holtz Salvage stickers.
I'm quite pleased with the result

Wabi Sabi

After reading an article in Cloth,Paper Scissors I was eager to give this concept a go. Wabi Sabi is all about the things around you, in your dreams, in your house, what you see when you go for a walk.
This canvas takes me back to my childhood - I grew up at the seaside - loved it and still misss it a lot and love to go back there as often as I can.
I covered my canvas with texture paste then coloured it with colour wash. I made markings and the word with my palette knife and the end of my paintbrush. I added dried emptied tea bags to creat more texture and finished off with the little bird stamp.
Its the first time I've tried it and am pleased with the result - I can see me doing more of these

Lotstodo - challenge - Canvas

I created this canvas for the Lotstodo Challenge and a swap on the Lotstodo Forum - I started by covering it with a dress pattern and adding piece of torn paper. I then added some stamped tissue, texture paint and a bit of colour. Next came the seed beads and washers covered with micaceous iron oxide. I distressed some leftover pieces of grungeboard and added them to the corners. The lettering came next - I used dabbers to colour them then added a bit of embossing powder to each one. To finish off I painted the outer edge with black gesso and added some wording.
This one is going to Sam - hope she likes it

A walk in the woods
I love the way this back to front canvas has turned out !!! There was a lot of fiddly cutting involved because I printed the main tree - cut it in half and after cutting out all the little bits and pieces I stuck it to either side of the canvas which I had already put the backing on to. I used ink to cover the sides and made my images stand out more with silicone.
I would love to give credit to whoevers blog gave me the inspiration to give this a try but can't find it again - sorry

Lotstodo Challenge - Tags
I created this double canvas for the Lotstodo Challenge where this week the theme is TAGS. I painted both canvasses with black gesso then whilst wet sprinkled on some rock salt. When they were dry i put on some gold rubb n buff here and there. It makes the rock salt look a little like gold nuggets :):) I then made my tags using masks, inks and stamps. I finished off the whole thing with the lettering which I'd cut from a sheet of Tim's background papers, mounted on to cardboard and inked. The canvasses are joined together with bookmakers cotton binding attached with my super new stapling machine.
The canvasses are for a friend who is busy creating her first very own craft room - hope she likes them

Lotstodo Challenge - Paper
I cut lots of 1 inch squares from yesterdays newspaper and glued them to my canvas covering all the sides too. I then inked all over - I followed this by using a contrasting ink through sequin waste. I did some stamping on to tissue and added these. I sanded and covered some slide mounts with Faber granite paint and when dry highlighted the cracks with black ink - I used these frames to attach my acetate images (Crafty Individuals) to my canvas. I finished the whole thing off with a piece from a broken piece of jewellery which I had distressed with paints. This is my entry for the Lotstodo Challenge this week.
