Beeswax

Added some colour to canvas with Adirondack Color Wash then added a dress pattern with beeswax - added image which I had grounded with a piece of underpaper- coloured and outlined the image - all the while I ket heating the beeswax so the pieces would stick - did the same with the butterflies adding wax and keeping it moving with my heatgun. Added some colour to a piece of notepad waste with sprays and adhered again with beeswax. Colored a grunge paper hinge with distress inks - added clear embossing powder and used my hammer to add texture. Printed some wording on PC and added these using the same method

Creative Colour - last piece

This is the last piece for the Creative Colour Workshop by Christy Tomlinson that I've been enjoying on line

I Covered my canvas with gesso then added a page from an old book. I covered this with a coat of cream acrylic I added liquitex ink in green and moved around with finger. I then added some deep violet ink and let it drip. I splashed some gesso on by flicking paintbrush.

I stamped, cut out and coloured car (pan pastels). Then cut out image (Lisa's altered art) and attached to canvas after grounding on scrap paper. I outlined the images with Black Unipen, printed and cut out wording, attached and outlined

The colour inspiration for this piece was Cream, Green, Burgandy and a touch of white. I feel I have achieved this

Creative Colour example 3

Love the way the hearts turned out on this one - just used crumpled tissue and modpodged them on to cardstock which I had cut heart shaped. The background was done with gesso, pieces of an old book, cream acrylic and some stamping to add texture - if you click on the pic it will enlarge so that you can have a better look at the texture

Creative Colour

This is my first piece for the online workshop that I'm busy doing called "Creative Colour" being run by Christy Tomlinson. I'm having so much fun searching magazines, going round the shops with my camera and just hunting out colour combinations that I can use in my art.

Recycled Journal

I've had so much fun doing this journal - I started with a pile of old newspapers !!!! added some glue, some ink and paint along with images and bits and pieces - made a couple of covers and hey presto - my reccyled journal - there are 18 pages as well as the front and the back

Recycled Newspaper

I completely made this journal using recycled materials i.e. Newspaper and tin foil !!!

I got my inspiration from a dvd that Donna Downey had produced. I tore newspaper into squares and then with a glue stick attached about 10 pieces together to make one page. I continued in this way until I had 10 pages and 2 covers. I made my pages into 5 signatures by adding strips down the side by gluing and machine stithing them. I covered my front and back with tinfoil that I had embossed in my Vagabond. I then used ten second studio tools to add a bit more detail after coating with black gesso I rubbed most of it off to leave a worn and weathered look. I coated all my signatures with white gesso and did some machine stitching on them before attaching them with a coptic stitch to my covers.

I completed my first 2 pages using pan pastels, stencils, stamping and images. They were both finished off with text

Pretty pleased with the result and will probably make more - might make one out of an old dictionery or telephone directory

Hot Glue Gun Resist

I covered my pages with gesso and then added colour with stencils and spray inks then I used a hot glue gun to write the word Dream on the top page and decorate the hearts on the bottom page - love the way it acts as a resist. I did lots of stamping and used some rub ons to add wording to my pages - quite pleased with the results - I'll probably add some journalling to them later

Alcohol ink backgrounds

I always thaught that you had to use glossy cardstock for alcohol inks - how wrong was I - for these backgrounds I gessoed my pages and then for one used alcohol inks and blew them around with a straw - the other one was done with alcohol inks put on to a pad in stripes and then just rubbed over the page - fab aren't they. I filled in the white spaces on the blown one with silver mixative

Art Journal pages

What fun I've had creating these pages - I used texture paste, pan pastels, lots of stencils and bits and pieces along with serviettes, stamping and even some sand !!!

These pages fall in with the challenge set on Take a Word which this week is Wings

Doodling pages

I wasn't quite sure where these pages were going to go when I started but am quite pleased with the finished result. I again started with gesso and pan pastels - did my doodling - added some stamping and a couple of bits of ephemera and then did my journalling

I think these pages fit in well with the Three Muses Challenge where this week the theme is "Words"

Journal pages

Another 2 pages done for my journal - I'm having so much fun creating them. I started with a coat of gesso then added colour with my pan pastels - used colour wash spray through a stencil to add the lettering - added siome stamping and pieces cut out from a magazine along with soem bits of ephemera I finished off by adding my wording

I think these fit in well with the Wednesday Stamper challenge where the theme is "Numbers"
