Night Sky

I covered my canvas with 2 coats of gesso then sprayed with colour wash - before it was properly dry I added some crackle paint - I then blew everyhting around with my heat gun to create the clouds. Made a lot of mess but had a lot of fun !!!!

Love the look and the texture

Wabi Sabi

After reading an article in Cloth,Paper Scissors I was eager to give this concept a go. Wabi Sabi is all about the things around you, in your dreams, in your house, what you see when you go for a walk.

This canvas takes me back to my childhood - I grew up at the seaside - loved it and still misss it a lot and love to go back there as often as I can.

I covered my canvas with texture paste then coloured it with colour wash. I made markings and the word with my palette knife and the end of my paintbrush. I added dried emptied tea bags to creat more texture and finished off with the little bird stamp.

Its the first time I've tried it and am pleased with the result - I can see me doing more of these

Alcohol Ink Painting

last night I saw this technique on someones blog - really sorry but I can't credit it have lost the link sorry.

I dropped various colours of alcohol ink on to a tile. Filled my water brush with blending fluid. Stamped my images on to acetate with stazon and heat set. Then picking the colours up with my brush painted the pictures on the reverse side - love the effect. And, apparently, you can just go back to the tile at any time to do some more painting - no need to freshen it up until you've used it all !!!
