Object D'Art - Saturday Workout -Tin

I coated my tin 3 times with gesso to get a good surface - I then inked with spice marmalade distress ink, stamped my image with Stazon, did some inking through sequin waste and did the edges with Gold Krylon and the added my charms. I now have somewhere to keep my charms.

Art Adventure - make a sign

I used a new to me technique from the fab book I've just bought by the very talented CLaudine Hellmuth - The books called Collage Discovery Workshop and I used the Peeling Paint technique.

I first covered my board with a coat of gesso - 'cos the board was dark brown.

I then put on my torn page and image and painted the whole lot with a coat of watered yellow acrylic when the paint was almost dry I rubbed some off my image.

Next I put on vaseline over the paper and the image and here and there on the background.

Next came a coat of green acrylic - let that dry and then cleaned all the vaseline, which had worked as a resist, off.

I burnt around my velum words to age them and attached with brads. Finished off by using my cropodile to put eyelets in to hold my hanger.

My background was created by putting my mountboard into the remains on my craft sheet after another project. I then stamped my scratches (Tim Holtz) added my image ( Suze Wienberg), My button and attached flower with a brad, I finished off by inking the edges

First time I've tried this technique and I love it. I didn't have any Acrylic Sealer so used Hairspray and it worked!!!

Lotstodo Challenge - In the News

I started my canvas by covering it with Gesso - once it was dry I used mod podge to transfer newsprint to the left hand side. I then used Distress inks Dried Marmalade and Peeled Paint and water to cover the canvas. I used Adirondack dye ink Espresso through sequin waste down the left hand side in the corners and all round the frame. I then stamped my images, Crafty Individuals, on to mount board heat embossed them and then highlighted with Whispers pens before attaching them with Diamond Glaze. To finish the piece I added buttons, a rub on flourish and the letter a which is also on newsprint

Tag your it - Stripes

I created my stripes with Adirondack dabbers. I then stamped my image ( The glance - Stampington) with Stazon and heat embossed it. I added my waste grungeboard which I'd inked with distress inks. T finish off I added a safety pin - coloured with alcohol inks - finally some fibres.

TGIF - Dogs

I was delighted and honoured when asked to be a guest designer on TGIF I created my wall hanging by firstly covering my 4 x 4 mountboard with distress ink I then put my Tim Holtz mask on and with cutndry added more ink I added my image Tuscan rose - then inked my Grungeboard before adding it I finished off my piece by adding my wording, a couple of staples and inking the edges and then attaching to the hanger. The hanger, grungeboard and masks were all bought from Artistic Stamper

Wednesday Stamper - gesso

for this challenge I made a wooden atc - I covered my wooden block with gesso and let it dry. I then put gesso on to my stamps and randomly stamped them. I let these dry. I then used green acrylic dabber and cutndry tocover the whole atc - next before the green was properly dry I used copper acrylic dabber to highlight parts of it. i finished by using copper perfect pearls. the photo doesn't really do it justice I'm quite pleased with it. remember if your trying this to wash the gesso off your stamps straightaway or you'll ruin them!!

Arty Girlz - Anything but a card

I acquired these Puzzle shaped beer mats whilst on holiday in Belgium - the Hotelier gave me a whole pack!!! I Firstly used gesso to create texture for my background I then inked it with Distress inks using cutndry I then added some gold leaf with mod podge just letting it stick a little while then tearing it off. I inked my wire mesh with metallic dabbers - bronze before adding my embellishment which I had created by stamping in to hot Friendly Plastic.

Crazy Amigos favourite things

I love grungy and messy!!!! and thats how I created the background for my skinny, which is also another page for Sue's book!!!.Stamp is by Tin can Mail - fab isn't it!! I stamped with stazon and heat embossed with Detail Copper - my grungy stains are done by dipping the bottom of a glass in gesso.

Mega Challenge

Andrea on the Lotstodo forum challenged me to make a "Technique" book for Shairon - the book has to include 6 pages using different Techniques. These are my pages and the techniques I have used - they can all be found in The Technique Zone.

Saturday Workout - Salted background

I created my background using Suze Weinbergs To Dye For Green and Orange - scattered with rock salt and left to air dry - I stamped my wording on to mountboard and inked it before adding it. My image ( tuscan Rose) was printed on to Safmat and mounted. I finished off the piece with a couple of brads.

I used real cork for my background - I was very surprised how well it took Adirondack dye ink. My images were all printed on to Safmat, mounted and inked - I then added my words and finished off with a flower held on my a brad.

Lotstodo Challenge - Time

I created the background to my hanger by first inking with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.
I then placed my mask (Tim Holtz) on and re inked the whole piece with Dried Marmalade Distress Ink.
I left the mask in place and stamped some background swirls with Brown Stazon. I then removed the mask.
I stamped my other clock faces (Hero Arts) on to mount board with Black Stazon inked them with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink and then distressed the edges with sandpaper before inking them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I attached the metal pointer with a brad and the word "Time" (which I found in my bits box) with sticky pads. I then attached the whole piece to my hanger (Artistic Stamper).

Tag your it - new stash

I used Adirondack dye ink ginger to cover my tag I then used peel offs as a mask and re-inked with Adirondack Espresso I stamped my quote (I won on Jennie's blog at Artistic Stamper)with pumpkin Stazon and mounted it. I finished off my tag bt inking the edges and adding braid
